Working with Time as an Existential Theme

Online Zoom event - Thursday 18th January 2024 11.00 am – 1.00 pm

While life continually reminds us of the finitude of our existence, we often overlook the significance of beginnings and endings. Embracing the acknowledgement of time and its limits can lead to living more deliberately, adding depth to our lives. In this PD, we will explore how these existential concepts can transform the therapeutic encounter.

In this workshop, you will:

  • Develop an understanding of how time is crucial to all aspects of our lives and how it can be effectively utilised in the therapeutic space.
  • Cultivate an awareness of how time can be both a limitation and a source of possibility, empowering your work with clients.
  • Engage in small group discussions to explore concepts.

Presenter: Alison Strasser, DProf (Psychotherapy & Counselling), MA, BA Hons

Alison is a practising psychotherapist, coach and supervisor. She is also an educator with a passion for imparting how existential themes can be integrated into every therapeutic approach. She was instrumental in creating the existential curriculum for many counselling and psychotherapy trainings in Australia and her doctorate focused on the process of supervision, work that led to a framework for supervisor training. Alison co-authored Time-Limited Existential Therapy with her father, Freddie Strasser and in 2022 she updated and published a revised edition.

This is a unique opportunity to explore your work through an existential therapy lens.

This workshop is online and includes a CPD certificate.
